The Fragile X Research ProgramThe Fragile X Research Program is multifaceted in its examination of fragile X syndrome itself and analysis of gene, brain, and behavior relationships in fragile X . The Fragile X Clinical and Research Program is staffed by a multidisciplinary, specialized team who provide the following services: medical evaluation and treatment; genetic counseling; developmental evaluation; psychological evaluation and treatment; occupational therapy evaluation and treatment; speech and language evaluation and therapy; and augmentative communication and computer evaluations. Major Goals:1. Increase understanding of treatment effects and prognosis for individuals affected by fragile X syndrome; 2. Provide state of the art, multidisciplinary evaluations for and clinical services to children and adults with fragile X syndrome; 3. Provide education, support and outreach to families and schools; 4. Continue to expand a database for research studies, including description of molecular/clinical correlations.
