Colorado Center of Excellence for Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities Research and Epidemiology

The Colorado Center of Excellence for Autism and Other Developmental Disabilities Research and Epidemiology (CADDRE) is studying Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) in the seven-county metropolitan Denver area (Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson counties). The Study to Explore Early Development (SEED) will work with the other CADDRE programs to find factors that make it more likely that a child will have an ASD and to identify conditions that are associated with ASDs. This information will come from families who choose to take part in the study, from evaluations of children with ASDs, and from medical records of the children. Children 2–5 years of age will be included in the combined centers study. The CDC website for CADDRE provides more information about this initiative.
